		<description>I just found your leadership blog (and it looks great by the way) and reading your most recent article, I have a few comments.

I like the way that you come from an outside example (Obama and the new SCJ having empathy), lead into tightrope walk of empathy for a leader being a balance (so true in that you can veer from Forceful, to Thorough, to Group Effective in your dealings with others), and end up backing your argument with research how humor is the leadership tone that most people respond to positively.  If only SCJ had time for humor in the courtroom!

When you think about it, it makes sense that keeping those on the front line - the one who deal directly with customers [not to exclude those behind the scenes] - happy, will make for a better customer experience and engender the loyalty that all businesses seek from the customers.

I never did fully equate employee retention directly to customer retention, but it is clear that when a good to great employee leaves, customers will also leave.  Thanks for reminding me about this!

I also agree with you that managing democratically or by concensus is a better way to form a strong team,and to use humor to put your team at ease so they can perform at their best when under pressure.  Enjoyed this post very much (what is your email address anyway?)</description>

Thx as always for your comment.  I couldn&#039;t agree more...some people are naturally good at showing empathy and those that are not naturally gifted in this area, must learn to do so if they are hoping to be successful teammates, managers, leaders.</description>
